The Arjan Story
Mina
Bolouri grew up in Shiraz, a city of fragrant walled gardens. Her mother's
garden was a retreat filled with roses and honeysuckle trees. Just outside
Shiraz are the uplands and deep canyons of Dasht-e-Arjan. Here
the Oaks and rare Arjan fig trees hide field after field of blooming
wild Narcissi and Fritillaries, a magical discovery for an adventurous
child.
The
rich colors of Provence, the warmth of Tuscany, and the formal gardens
of Shiraz are all creative sources for Mina - their juxtaposition with
the seasonal plants of the Bay Area yield a richly startling play of
hue and texture. Here orange velvets combine with silvery blue berries,
silky lavender tulips join striking dark branches, dusty roses dance
with ochre brocades. Visit us for a meeting of blooms like a magic
carpet, to take you far away from the everyday.
At night the flowers in the garden are like a gardener’s lantern…Each lover takes wine in hand and strolls towards the garden with
a seductive beauty.
